I know perforation gauges are cheap, but sometimes you need one and can't wait a couple of days for it to come in the mail, if you don't have a stamp store near by.

One of troubles with printable perf gauges is that users can often change the 'zoom' in the printing process and this can make them inaccurate.
I developed the free PDF perf gauge below with the printing features 'locked' so that this can never happen. While it is accurate it is certainly meant only for a quick measurement when a standardize gauge is not available.

As Don mentions, this is really tricky because of the way printers and viewers render the print and can vary enough to throw it off, ESPECIALLY something as exact as a perf gauge. I would suggest only using this if desperate or printing and comparing to a real one before using. Even with the printing features locked, it can be off. I remember once I was trying to print a similar measuring guide and when I would compare it to the real thing, it was off on every printer I tried in the office.
