I bought a "colour reference" sheet like this, too, from ebay a few years ago. Even as a newbie I was disappointed to find that it was not at all organized usefully. I have delayed mentioning this because, well... I can't actually find it!
I agree they are totally not organized in any useful way. I do find them a bit useful, but it also shows that not everyone agrees on colour, because they often do not agree even with themselves.
So I too have these same sheets that look like color charts to me. Upon closer examination I believe you will find a small Stanley Gibbons logo on at least one of the sheets. Mine certainly has it. I was always going to write SG and find out what they may have been created for. I expect they may also be catalogue images being tested prior to printing for color. Mine are in very good condition and from time to time I do look at them. If you write Gibbons and get answers let us know. thanks Peter
pkritz...If you find out they are colour proofs of the actual stamps, I would help pay for some of the reproduction/photocopy to have people on this forum get some thing good for their hobby..just a thought.
