My favourite Canadian stamp-on-stamp issue. For all you rodent stamp collectors, this was the only rodent on a stamp for almost 90 years. The stamp designer, Sir Sandford Fleming, wasn't just an artist, he was also an engineer. And a mapmaker. And a surveyor, he surveyed the first cross-Canada rail line. And he was a Captain in the militia. And he was a chancellor at a university for 35 years. And he invented time zones. And he founded the Royal Canadian Institute, Canada's oldest scientific society. Yikes, imagine what he could have done if he wasn't so lazy ...
Canadians will be familiar with these Historica Minutes.
