Ok, I'm in the middle of mounting my Prestige Booklet of Doctor Who Stamps. I took the sheet and measured it against my Showgard mount sizer, and it shows that the sheet is too small for the 94m (by a hair), and the next size up us 100mm.

So, I grabbed my pack of 100mm, used it all up and was one mount short.

Hop in the car (in the snow no less!) and hit the stamp store a few blocks from house and go to grab a pack of 100mm mounts, only to see he has 4 packs in black and clear of Showgard 96mm mounts!

So, I stay with the 100, because that's what I started with, and immediately go to showgard.com, to see if I am using an old mount guide. The one on their site also does not show a 96 mm mount. But then I go through the site, and I find strips 96x264.

The 96 mm would have been a way better option for me.

So, how I am trust Showgard size charts now, if they don't include all sizes available?

That's why I use Scott mounts from Global.
Better mounts, a lot more sizes and cost less!

I usually use Scott mounts from Global also. But I wanted to get this done today.

I consider myself lucky to have a stamp collecting store within 2 minutes driving time from my house and I wanted to take advantage of that fact.

You're lucky to have a stamp store close by. My closest for mounts is a hundred miles away with a very limited selection.

I would go with the 96mm mount strips, even if it meant re-working what you have already done. With all that fine work you have put in on the pages the stamp panels would look nicer without uneven mount borders.

The 100mm mounts don't look as bad you as you think.

Thanks for the kind words on the stamp pages.

Hi Andy

Have you tried "sideways". I have had to do that on more than one occasion. It seems to work well as the large item doesn't fall out.

If you are referring to the red plastic Showgard 'sizer' remember that these were produced when Showgard first came out. So missing sizes is not remarkable. Also, one should not look at the strips only. Some of the 'packages', National Parks, etc. contain useful sizes.

The 'sizers' and a perf gauge were given out as promotional items when Showgard first started. I still have 2 of each but the perf guages are getting a little worn. Fortunately I do not have to measure perfs all that much.

I went to showgard.com and downloaded a PDF of their size guide, and it's missing the 96 mm mount also. You'd think they would update their own mount guide as they get new sizes from Schaufix.
