"How has the USA not been charged for war crimes over Big Boy & Fat Boy"?

If for no other reason, "War Crimes" is something charged by the winners against losers, not the other way around. Especially when the losers were the aggressors in starting the war and had a laundry list of legitimate war crimes.

The second reason is that a legitimate argument can be made that using those bombs saved many thousands of American lives that would have been lost by a direct invasion of Japan(and possibly many Japanese as well, since bitter fighting might have gone on for months), and in any event there was certainly nothing new about mass civilian deaths in WWll. The Japanese killed upwards of 20 million civilians in China alone.

That is a very honest answer revcollector and not an easy one!

One thing that I would like to add is if Big Boy & Fat Boy did not happen Australia would have been occupied by the Japanese within months.
Plus 1,000 & 1,000 of Australian POW's would never have got home.

Many of our POW's would not have lasted too many more months of no food & gross ill treatment.

My wife father was one of the pilots that brought many Australian POW's home.
It was so horrific a mission that he had to wait in the cockpit until the POW's were all very carefully removed from the plane. The memory of that horror never left him. The sound and smell of horror he would say.

Next year is the 100 years since the beginning of WWI and also a 100 years since the 1st issue Australia's KGV definitives issues.

It will hopefully be a very interesting year for stamping.

If you do some research and not just read the spoon fed propaganda history books of the 'winners' of WWII, you will learn that the attack on Pearl Harbor was known about and and preventable and even warned about in the Honolulu newspaper the week before. But it was wanted as an excuse to get the US into a war Americans did not want any part of after being sucked into WWI (which, in itself, was a gigantic chess move to set up WWII).

Japan was looking to surrender after Midway when a good portion of their fleet was destroyed because of a bad move on their part and a fortuitous one on the part of the US Navy. Also, Tokyo was being fire bombed, a war crime much like the firebombing of Dresden, Germany, which brought German air raids to London in retaliation.

The whole history of the war is a lie. It was instigated by the bankster powers that be (City of London types who, by the way, made money funding both sides, as a bonus) to gain further control over the 'ordinary' people of the world.

Why did it start over an invasion of Poland, only to end by subjecting Poland -- as well as all of Eastern Europe -- to Communist terror as bad as if not worse than that of the Nazis?

Why did (the traitor) Roosevelt make that kind of deal at Yalta?

One reason was to set up the so called Cold War for the sake of the powers that be banksters who can not have a world free and at peace.

Look at the current misnamed War on Terror. It is actually a war OF terror on the part of the United States and NATO fraught with war crimes against the people of Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, and elsewhere.

If the US is fighting Al Quada and using that as an excuse to turn America into a police state based on the lie of the 9/11 attacks (again carried out at the behest of the same powers that be) why are the US and NATO at the same time funding, supporting, and sending Al Queda terrorists into Syria to overthrow the duly elected government of Assad?

For me this stamp issue is a big success. It has generated much discussion. With the big question about FDR stamp collecting habits.

I think it is going to be a poor seller given the fact that a lot of this mail is going to be done via the machine. I'll keep one for the album but won't invest for a FDC.

Could it be that Big Boy and Fat Boy were named after Stalin and Churchill, and despite Japan's seeking to surrender and refused, dropped by that old Mason Truman to bring nuclear terror into the world?
