Not that I have any intent in doing so at this point, but what is the protocol for putting together a nice country collection on Steiner pages and selling it on ebay? Is there any type of copyright issue with doing that?

You mean if you happen to have a country collection housed on Steiner pages, and you are selling- and showing- your collection on ebay?

Why should there be a problem?

I don't know, the thought just popped into my head while reading through this thread. Guess it's no different than selling any collection in an album. Except you could print the same pages again and again profiting probably more than a bunch of loose stamps from said country.

Also thought that with all the ebay searching I do for stamps, I'd never seen an auction of stamps on Steiner pages

They are definitely around. I've run into several collections for sale from local club members that are housed on Steiner pages. Just a matter of time.

I don't have an issue with (and I doubt Steiner does either) with selling a collection mounted to his pages.

But the gentleman with the Israel pages, took Steiner's pages, added images to them, and reposted them as a free download on his own wen page. That is definitely a violation of Steiner's terms of service.

These same restrictions apply to any CD-ROM discs you buy from any of the Licensed Sources listed on the Printed Pages website page."

To answer the question on Steiner pages being for sale on ebay. He doesn't have a legal issue with that so long as your selling your own collection of stamps .But if you market it as Steiner pages or only have a few stamps with the greater value being the album and you do it repeatly then your going to get a cease and desist order from a lawyer who can take a few pints of blood from you in front of a judge .

I just renewed my subscription to Steiner's site. I typically will subscribe every few years to get all the updated pages. If you are technically inclined (and have a Mac or Linux) the wget command will pull down the pages quickly and use your ID and password. Email me if you want detailed instructions.
