Hi..take a look at this Scott #676 Child Christmas stamp...The one I am concerned with is the dot after the word NOEL...Any comments are appreciated..thanks.

All those extra little dots are neat. Good eye.

I haven't seen one in person myself though.

Most of them are ink splatters, but the one you refer to is stronger. It could be a constant variety. Would need to find more with the same dot.

3Deado you may be correct about the "DOT" after the word noel...hope others will check their Scott #676 to see if indeed it is a constant.

I've had a chance to go through our 'stock' of 952 used copies of Scott 676 looking for the larger black spot beside the vertical stroke of the 'L'.

If this variety was constant on 1 stamp per pane, one would expect to find it on 1 in 25 stamps.

If the variety was constant on 1 stamp per sheet (presumably there were 3 panes per sheet, as per other similar issues printed by Ashton-Potter), then one would expect to find the variety on 1 in 75 stamps.

I did not find any of this variety in the 952 copies checked. I would suggest that your find is probably unique, and most likely not constant.
