Chase333, I can't judge condition, or particular versions, by the pics you've posted. But whatever, these are really nice early stamps. Listed under the Cantonal Administration. The top one is a 6 rappen stamp of Zurich. It could be 1843 or 1846. Scott catalog also mention reprints. All are valued about the same (opprox. $1,800). But...condition is key. The second one is 1845 Basel. The problem with this stamp is there is a "proof" version that is vermillion instead of crimson. The difference in value is quite substantial. $12,500 for the crimson stamp, $3,500 for the proof version. The third one again it's about color which can't be judged here. Looks like there is no dot after the five so that would make it one of two stamps. Ranging from $1,500 to $3,000.
I would really love to see the stamp that is below the third one. I can just see the top of it "Poste Locale".
You can find Scott catalogs at you're local library. These stamps are listed on the first page of the Switzerland section. |

Thanks for the reply stampcrow, I will be posting a variety of stamps that I find that could be of value (multiple different countries). Really overwhelmed by the collection right now but here is the photo of the stamp you requested, also have 1850's Rayon's which I think are rare as well. |

Thanks for showing that. I was hoping it was the 4c version....about $30,000 worth lol. The one shown, not sure what the facsimile overprint is about. I don't have that in my catalog. You could try a google search for Switzerland, Geneva Scott catalog #2L6.
I actually have two of the Rayon stamps. They are two of the most valuable stamps in my entire collection. They would finish last in just the few stamps you have posted. If these are just an example of you're collection you're in for some real fun lol. I caution you though, there are forgeries of most rare stamps. Also, condition affects value greatly. But....rare is rare and it's cool to own rare no matter re-sale value. IMO. Lastely, I'm just a beginner that happens to own a set of Scott catalogs. Over the next day or two you will get more informed responses. Good luck and keep posting. |

The FACSIMILE overprint means just that: it's an imitation. I'd guess of no value. |

Your stamps should be looked at as fakes until you have them expertised .If you can make better scans I can give you some help to avoid you paying for a expert opinion . |

Maybe you should first go to a library and read the catalogue to learn a bit before spending funds on professional assistance? |

I agree with the suggestions to post a good closeup scan or two here, to get some ideas, before paying for professional help. There are a lot of members who will have some resources to share. Here is a Scott 7 from my only classic Switzerland with a certificate, in this case from Sismondo. (The writing coming in from the left is a signature on the certificate, tying the scan to the cert.) For the curious, Sergio says this is a Type 39 out of the 40 transfer subjects, and he blesses the cancel. |

Agree with CJD, your Geneva stamp also has a red overprint indicting its a forgery also . A simple rule to follow on collections is that if the cheaper stamps are in poor shape and the stamps of catalog value of $20.00 to $100.00 are mostly defective then any higher value stamps gems most likely are fakes .Remember for many years fakes and forgeries sold for only a few dollars each , so if a collector didn't buy quality better stamps ,then his gems are mostly fakes 99% of the time . |
