Even with all the criticism of the USPS lately, the mail still goes through pretty much on schedule -- even during severe snow and blizzard-like conditions and extreme cold. Here's one example from a wire photo said to be from Kalamazoo, MI:

Just talked to my wife in Chicagoland. Highs on Monday expected to be -10F with lows about -18F. Windchills could bring it down to -45F or lower. Brr ...

We already got a call saying all public schools in Minnesota will be closed Monday. I think the next announcement will be that the state is closed until temps are back above -25 F.

We are going to hit a record come this Tuesday in northern Virginia. Cold today too in addition to the snow which has not melted.
