Dear Lehman
Emily {Bozorth}? come to see me this morning and brought the account of you being very unwell which I am very sorry to hear. I hope hope before you receive this you may have received recovered your health. I often think of you & Mary and family and could wish to be oftener{?} with you but my health is not good and our circumstances are such that it is not convenient at times to go from home and indeed at this time is not possible as your Father a few days back was severely attacked with Erysipelas* and is now very lame with it from his foot to his hip on the left side all broke out in large blotches an I am afraid it will be some time before he would be well enough to leave.- I have it in mind when the weather gets cooler to pay you a visit if nothing more than I know of at present to forward it.- I hope Mary and the children keeps well give my love to her and should have be glad to have seen her & you and children here if it had been convenient- Your Aunt Betsy leaves us tomorrow by whom I write this letter it being a good opportunity to get it. Your Father {doing}? joins me in love to you all.
I remain your affectionate Mother- Sarah Watson

*Erysipelas -is an acute infection of the upper dermis and superficial lymphatics, usually caused by streptococcus bacteria. Erysipelas is more superficial than cellulitis, and is typically more raised and demarcated.

Thank you Rod, Bill & Terence for the corrections! I fixed them.
