Fees are high and I have bought some covers thinking stamps were imperf but they were not... picture quality is not good. Sellers should be asked to show front and back side of every stamp they list. too many times when I received stamps they were bad in quality. There should be dealer kind of quality control. |

Thats a pretty general statement..my wife buys excellent stamps from a dealer in Belgium that starts everything at 99 cents and lets the market determine the value..and his shipping is FREE ! |

Yes I think I sounded like I am generalizing, There should be some rules set as for disclosure for the quality of the products. Picture quality should be better on 19th century products. |

stamp world has online Stamps catalog where you see the catalog price and next to it, there is a link to buy the same kind stamp. So one knows the worth of the stamp before they buy them. |

Yeah rizzi, if you think ebay is bad - try bidstart for a while. Latest experience (when will I learn??): bought 7 well centered modern stamps advertised as MNH.(Maybe Not Happy?) Results: 6 stamps with major gum issues - they had been wet somewhere along the way - and one with an obvious hinge mark. Seller didn't notice and said to just trash 'em. I just don't understand selling a stamp as MNH if you haven't taken 2 seconds to check?!? I'm about 75% good with ebay and 20% good with bidstart with respect to undescribed faults |

rizzi is the picture in your thread that you linked too the same picture that was on ebay? Did the seller claim that the right two stamps were imperf between? Looking at that picture they clearly are not. If it wasn't stated in the listing there was no reason to think they were. If it was stated in the listing then return them. |

ebay is merely a venue and each and every seller is different in how they approach selling. Some people put little effort and care into their listings and it shows. Others will provide the best service, photos and descriptions possible. As a buyer, it's your job to sort between those two groups and that goes for any store, show, mail order, auction house, website, internet auction, etc. |

Quote: stamp world has online Stamps catalog where you see the catalog price and next to it, there is a link to buy the same kind stamp Stampworld is a minor player in the game Rizzi, I do not know what your gripe is. ebay is the best online source for stamps, buying and selling. I have been a member for 15 years, mostly buying, and 99% satisfied, way higher % than my pre-internet buying. |

ebay buyers have the sellers by the short and curlies. It is called feedback. ebay has no issue running a seller out of town because of........wait for it.........Buyers feedback! Negative means the seller is on the ropes and if they do not pick up their act they will very soon not be seller on ebay. How can an ebay buyer not understand this? |
