Wert I have to say you have an eye for details.
But a lot of what looks odd to you is artistic license.
In this stamp for instance I believe the designer did not show the
spoke because it would interfere with the writing.
Sometimes if the stamp was engraved changes had to be made
by the engraver from the original design or photo
to accommodate for this print method compared to lets say offset/litho
or photogravure.
