Hi guys...Please look at this Scott #559 stamp...Looks like the paper is peeling off the surface and there is paper below..Strange..Has anyone seen this before..I am stumped.

Can you show us detail of the upper part of the back of the stamp? I wonder what it looks like.

If part of the paper was doubled I would expect to see a defined break in the inking in the change of level from thicker paper (double-thick) to a single layer of paper. I would also expect there to be no noticeable marks/creases on the back. Just my 2 cents.
