The "shape cut" of the stamp shown is not that unusual, as most coil stamps were affixed to envelopes with machines, many of which did not do a good job of cutting the stamp exactly on the perforations.

For those who may be interested in the sender, "Princess Pat, Ltd.", I came upon this link which provides an extensive biography of how the company evolved through to its demise in 1960s. I found it to be an interesting read:

Fascinating story, and a very modest ad cover for a successful company! If the stamp is a Sc 599, that might date the cover back to the early or mid-1920s. Maybe this cover is one of the company's earlier ones?

Looking into the personal or commercial background of covers is one of my favorite aspects of cover collecting. Thanks for your efforts Wt1. I'll have to watch for a Princess Pat cover now!.
