Today I was looking at Canada Post website. Something looked odd. Likke the reprinted somme P Stamps with the 63c value. Could not believe my eyes. Yes they did it. You pay 63c each at the Post office. Here from my post office. The old and the new ones.

All 'P' stamps have been removed from sale pending the proposed March 2014 increase to 85 cents.

If approved, all "P" stamps will be sold at 85 cents, and then they will be released for sale again.

A case of CP preventing large sales of 'P's at 63 cents in the interim.

Until then they simply reprinted current issues with the 63 cent rate printed on them instead of 'P'".

Does that mean that the new ones with 63 cents printed on them may be scarcer because they are only recently out and they may get soon replaced by ones with 85 cents printed on them?

OMG does anyone think that CP had the smarts to think this increase out to benefit the collector. I can almost understand why CP pulled all the "P" stamps off of the market. They didn't want all their loyal customers actually making a few pennies, sorry I meant a few nickels, when the "P"s become 85c. Then again maybe they missed making a pile of money because all the collectors would have loaded up on the cheaper 63c "P" before the price increase.....wouldn't you? CP in their quest for more dollars then released if not all the then current "P" stamps with 63c versions probably most of them. So now collectors being collectors had to dig deep once again to purchase all the 63c versions. What happens to all the remaining 63c versions when the "P" stamps are put back into circulation at the new 85c rate? A bonfire or a fire sell? Thank goodness I stopped buying new release at the end of 2012. I must have an extra $1200 in my pocket. It's a mind game and I just got a headache.
