I was just curious if anyone attended this weekend's APS AmeriStamp Expo in Little Rock and what your perceptions were.
The wife and I drove over from Nashville. It seemed there were fewer dealers than last year's show in Louisville. Though, several seemed very busy and others seemed to have nothing going on (nor much for sale). That said, I did pick up a number of good covers for my Israel collection, some nice USCG ice breaker covers for my Coast Guard postal history collection, and I plugged a few holes for my Haiti and used U.S. collections. Finally, I found a piece for my newspaper/journalism philatelic collection. Pretty active buy day for me.
And I was very proud of myself for NOT buying any type of accumulations/mixtures/lots/kiloware/mass 'o crap for once.

I enjoyed the exhibits as well. In particular there was one on National Scout Jamborees and one about Confederate mail crossings at Union outposts that were fascinating to me. I also liked the exhibit about U.S. postal counterfeits. Finally, though I'm not into the whole Harry Potter thing, there was a Harry Potter exhibit I thought was well done.
