The bothwell has way more of a diagonal heavy wove pattern al,ost looks like diamon pattern. Once you have one not much compares to the way its made. Bothwell without watermarks is fairly easy to discern but I'm more concerned trying to find the "alex Prie paper and be able to tell it without any marks.

Watermark here is a 24 that curls on the sides when placed in water. It has a distinctive diamond pattern. Is this unmarked Bothwell paper?

It is vertical wove paper if it curls on the sides first. It could be Bothwell paper but I am not sure if the pattern is right. I am having a little trouble seeing it in your image clearly.

It is not Bothwell paper Coinwatcher. Bothwell paper is also pretty opaque.
Nitrolures, Pirie only exists on the 15c Scott #30 and will be perf 11/2 X 12. It is the only one with this perf. Also, the color will be greenish grey and this color is actually pretty dark. I have seen one in person without the script and have been looking for a long time without luck so far..........

https://goscf.com/t/23815&SearchTerms=bothwell,
Check this post out for a great pic of the bothwell with watermark. The mesh or weave of coinwatchers is horizontal and is horizontal wove .

I probably will not post much to this forum but may check in from time to time. Stamp is a later shade on Paper 10, a thin to medium thickness horizontal wove paper.

Are some other clues for # 32 from # 24 (besides the horizontal laid lines) a vertical thick wove and a Hamilton postmark that can be town # 5 or the town name?

archerg. It is a shame that you do not wish to post more as you seem to have great knowledge. Since you seem to have a good sens of large queen paper types, it would be great to have a post with a visual of all the large quenn paper types

This post is becoming very educational. Thanks to all for sharing your knowledge. So first 24 is med.horizontal wove; second 24 is regular vertical wove. Now I have a very interesting curve ball. This third LQ 24 is horizontal wove. The paper curls to a cylinder very quickly from top and bottom to center and uncurls quite quickly as well when placed in water. When held to the sunlight the wove pattern is not easily visible and the back of the stamp has a very course horizontal grain. I think this may be blotting paper,(very thick horizontal wove). Opinions please.
