Which countries issued stamps in the 19th century commemorating historical women who were not at that time ruler, nor related to the ruler of that country?
example: USA 244 (Scott), commemorating Queen Isabella for her support of Columbus.

Acording to my check lists the first woman not queen or any kind of ruler was
saint Ursula, issued by Virgin Islands in 1866, 1867, 1868 (sory I have no stamp).

Some "early" women:

Cuba 1914:
Gomez de Avellaneda Gertrudis (1814-1873) a Cuban-born Spanish writer.

Mexico 1910, 1914:
Vicario Leona (1789-1842) a supporter of the Mexican War of Independence.
Ortiz Josefa (1768-1829) a Mexican patriot as well as a heroine of Mexico's Independence War.

Many thanks, primoz! Does your checklist have any other 19th c. stamps with women besides St. Ursula?

I found no women but saint Ursula issued before 1900.
Before WWI only few women were put on stamps (beside Cuba and Mexico):
Colombia 1910: Salavarrieta Policarpa,
Egypt 1914: Cleopatra? (she is queen)

In the 1900-1910 category, there's also Martha Washington (USA 1902) and Pocahontas (USA 19). If I find more, I'll post it. In the meantime, many thanks for your help!
