It seems a lot of collectors are concerned with what it would cost to replace their collections, myself included. So, I'm in the process of inventorying my postal history collection for insurance purposes. I have a modest reference library for my stamps, postal history, revenues and other items. I started to remember what I had paid for all these books and decided that I better insure these too.
This brought up a question, I wonder if others had thought about this as well.
There may be a significant replacement cost for just the reference material, a person's collection is more than just their stamps and covers. Then there are the supplies, albums, Vario sheets, etc.
I suspect that my postal history collection has more value than my stamp collection, these being the more extensive collections.
The replacement cost can be a lot more than you think.
