Based on his feedback number, I would guess the seller's price & description are based in part on ignorance. But only a small part. In any case, ignorance is not an adequate excuse. |

Out of curiosity, was it "free listing week" on ebay? This sort of thing comes up every time they do that ... |

I'm not surprised at all. ebay enables people to be able to go into business for themselves without the proper knowledge, in this case stamps, to sell. Own a home and your own business and you've achieved a good part of the American dream. In this case the buyer is a lot smarter than the seller and can just laugh. Tom |

If he wants $1900, he needs a better hook than the technical description "color error". I suggest "Autumn variety". With rare or scarce in there somewhere, of course. |

It is scarce a one of a kind as the sun would work differently on each stamp. He could start a new business called "Solar Changed Stamps." Tom |

Is it possible for the ink beside and under the postmark to be affected and not the postmark along with it if something drastic was done to the stamp? Since ebay can't see everything going on there, there is a report item link button for each listing so that those who see something wrong with the listing can report it to them. However, I don't know how seriously they take such stamp listings after they are reported. |
