Now this looks like an Entire Double Transfer

(It may even be a little twisted)

Would the lower right show a "Recut Frame Line"?

OK I'm not seeing the double transfers? Maybe I don't know what to look for? I have quite a few of these stamps and would like to look for these anomalies. Thanks-

Sometimes, they are very tough to see. Classic Coins has MUCH better close-up, but I have pointed out the slight "doubling" of the lines in each of these photos.

As was pointed out earlier, this doubling may be restricted to only a small area, or it may cover the entire stamp. Interesting and plentiful on this issue (there is almost no additional value for double-transfers, as I guess they are very common).

I'm still hoping someone can show us a Cracked Plate or a Quadruple Transfer. My Recut Frame Line is also one that I would like verified.

Great thread! Got me looking closer at my 231's - This one appears to have no hat?

By the way, I just found an older thread on the same issue that has a good presentation of the Progressive Broken Frame Line.

https://goscf.com/t/11735

I actually didn't know that the center portion broke first, then the lower portion. I'll have to look through mine, yet again.

In many cases (especially in the 20th century material) double transfers do not catalog much more than regular stamps. The 569 is an exception because it is so huge and is pictured in Scott. However it is a mistake to think that they are always common or will automatically be cheap if a dealer has one. Often they are not common or cheap. The collector who learns what to look for can sometimes find unnoticed double transfers in a dealers stock. Except for the classics they are perhaps not as popular as they once were and because they have low cat values they are not auction items, so the prices don't change very often. Revenue double transfers have a bit more popularity but again it is only the really major ones with catalog illustrations that cat big bucks. And again some are much more common than others. Personally I love them and actively collect them, both revenue and postage. Postage is generally tougher.

I think you might have something hot with that missing hat Harryg. Can you show a close-up?

Harryg. That's a pretty interesting version. I'll have to look for something similar.

I probably have at least 100 of these. This will give me something to do this morning.

I think I'll lay them all on my scanner and make a high resolution scan to make it easier on the eyes :)

Always loved this stamp and still set them all aside when I come across them.

Here's my favorite one:
