Jazinta, welcome to the forum. I do not believe the stamps you show are worth a whole lot, but they are certainly beautiful! Fantastic start of a country collection!

Thank you. Mostly they are uncirculated, and I think that the stamp proofs are probaly woth more. But the rest I don't know a lot about. |

Hello Jazinta, welcome! I looked on ebay and I think most of the bigger art stamps sell for 50c to $1.00 USD each with some more rare ones selling for more. I have some used ones myself, or mint. |

Thank you. And if the stamps are "circulated" is it worth even somthing when compared to the uncirculated stamps? |

Not realy. They're pretty common stamps, issued in great numbers (at least, for European standards), and easy to find. Not worth too much. Anyway you'll find their actual market value on e-bay or Delcampe (a hBelgian internet sales site). But, they are very nice stamps! Money isn't everything...

Hello Jazinta, and welcome to the forum. Quote: And if the stamps are "circulated" ... I believe you are stating that the stamps are unused, with the full gum on the back, and in pristine condition. If so, those are usually referred to as MNH (Mint, Never Hinged) and are a very common way of collecting modern stamps. I believe the values posted by others are accurate, so a very nice collection, but not anything special (except maybe the proofs ... not sure). French stamps are one of the prettiest, though. Love them. |

When the stamps are circulated or postally used they are still worth something. I collect mostly used stamps myself, valuing a good cancellation or postmark.
Some value the postmark, sometimes known as a cancel in North America, more when it is off to a corner or side, thus showing the design of the stamp more clearly.
Others, like myself, like the cancel or circular date stamp (CDS) postmark, to be centered or Socked On the Nose (SON), but I believe in France the value is mostly in the Mint or Mint Never Hinged (MNH) (in Great Britain - Unmounted Mint (UM)) category of stamp. |

Complete or Full sets of stamps are valued more by a collector beginning his search or study into the area also. |

Quote: I believe you are stating that the stamps are unused, with the full gum on the back, and in pristine condition. Yes, sorry. I know only the terminology of coins and paper money. And also, I received too a few commemmorative sheets (like below). Are this official made?? I don't know what it is. |

I think this the French version of a Special first day issue or ETB in german:) they have some value you can find them on ebay if you search for : ebay document philatelique officiel and collections of these ETB's are worth quite a lot seeing the prices on ebay.. the tekst is about the paintings Bonnard made during his life and some background about his person. |

You may want to change the title here to "FRENCH PAINTING STAMPS" not French Printed. This would help future readers find this site .thanks. |
