This article was in our local paper a couple of weeks ago. I thought I would share it with you. I'm a bit out of practice scanning hope it's readable.

Cool and true story. Here is a little more info if you have trouble reading the scan.

That's an interesting story. It kind of fits into a broad category with the U.S. Farley issues.

Here's another story about the Connell stamp (New Brunswick Scott#5). It's from the New Brunswick Beacon (Sept 27, 2012) and has to do with finding a rare proof.

I am a little puzzled by this thread, particularly the recent article in the N.B. Beacon. Connell proofs are not particularly rare or expensive. I own one and probably could have acquired a dozen or so others over the last few months if I had been willing to spend the money. I'm quite sure mine is genuine as I bought it from one of Canada's most reputable dealers. However, I don't have a certificate.

There is at least one genuine Connell in New Brunswick - on display in Woodstock, N.B. - and I have heard that a second one is held in a private collection somewhere else in the Province.

I'd be interested to know if there is any basis to the assertion in the article that the proofs have sold for thousands of dollars. I certainly didn't pay anywhere near 4 figures for mine.
