Hi guys...Unitrade shows a "defective 2" on this Scott 229, but shows no picture of what it looks like..Has anyone seen the variety and could tell me if mine is that variety..??..Thanks.
WERT, Saskatoon stamp has 2 copies up for sale (http://www.saskatoonstamp.com/catal...0&pagenum=10 These copies appear to have a more complete break between the top part and the bottom part of the left 2.
Wert: Great image of the 1935 King George V coil stamp (Canada Scott#229). The Darnell catalogue has a picture of the damaged "2" and also indicates that the Silver Jubilee 1935 issue was the beginning of hidden dates. The hidden date on yours is partially covered by the cancel. Glenn Hansen's catalogue (1973-4)refers to it as "the dated die issue of 1935".
