Someone on my wife's FB is valuing this stamp at $139.00 USD, and is offering this stamp to whom ever makes the best offer My SC 2009 values this stamp at $27.50 BTW, this guy did not state what SC year he was using If anyone has a SC 2014, then would you please give me the value of this stamp? Thnx CuL_Lector
Thanks, Brian. These are the 4 stamps this guy is selling...NL SC # 47 he valued as $139 USD...SC # 44b he vales as $80..(so he says, but there is no 44b, just 44, and the stamp is 43), NL SC # 13, he values as $215 USD, and NL SC #27, which he values $185 USD..
Not one of the values given by this person is accurate. The best answer I can come up with is that he is using a Scott catalogue from the early 80s when stamp prices were highly inflated, but I don't have anything that old to reference on hand.
Even IF he listed accurate descriptions and catalogue values on these stamps, not a single one of them is in good enough shape to use given cat values. Only the 47 appears to be sound, and the rest are worth 5-10% of current listed cat values.
If you are considering doing business with this person - DON'T!
Thanks, Brian, but I had no intention of doing business When he posted these, he had SC # 13 for 12 and SC # 47 for 64...When I told him the values were out of wack and the numbers were wrong, he said it was his wife who had done it He has since removed them...
Based on the 2014 Version of Walsh/Butt's Specialized Stamp Catalogue (which lists values seen or realized in auctions): Here is my take (oldest to newest):
Black prince albert 10 cent stamp (1868-79) : used at $40 (white paper) to $80 (pelure-yellow onion skin paper)...this stamp looks damaged, but well centered is hard to find for this stamp
Orange ship 13 cent stamp (same): used at $55 ... I like the cork cancel--nice...but stamp also looks damaged
violet/gray/deep brown prince of wales 1 cent stamp (1880-1890): unused at $20 to $50 (depending on color)
Green codfish 2cent stamp (1880-98): used at $10 (yellow green) to $20 (green). Note--this is not the 1868-79 green cod stamp)
Got to run now--my wife is selling my stamps at garage sale...
