Hello all,
Sad news, I found out today from the president of the Bennington, VT that the president of the Manchester, New Hampshire stamp club, stamp dealer and retired postmaster Robert Dion has passed away along with wife Constance in a tragic house fire. Fire is suspect and his son Matthew is a person of interest. Some of you in the New England area probably have met Bob at shows previously and from the link below he was well respected. Sad story, but something I don't want to be silent about.

I am very sorry to hear this, Battlestamps. There is no reason in the world why anybody would have to have his life cut short in this way! May he rest in peace,

Peter

Very sad story indeed, A life cut to short. My family and I escaped a fire when I was young. It's something horrific. May they rest in peace.

I am sorry to hear this as well.

I first heard about it last night in a stamp chat. My understanding is that he ran a new issue service (?) I also heard that the couple was dead well before the fire. I am sure we will hear more about this case as time goes by.

I read all the posts and the news article and it's a terrible story not ended yet as there will be a trial. The kind of tragedy that people will still talk about for a long time. Make me sade thinking about it. Rest in peace Robert Dion and his wife Connie.

That's sickening actually. Very sad to see another prominent collector pass away especially that tragically. I read this and thought it odd though it may not be. "Focosi who was engaged to marry the Dions' son Matthew and spoke for the family Friday at the Dions' funeral Mass, visited Sunday's show to see the memorial the stamp collectors had produced."

Very sad to see an obvious asset to the stamp community pass away. I'm even more disgusted in the manner in which it happened. I hope that the justice deals with this case as best as possible...
