Canada Post 100th Anniversary Stamps

RMS Empress of Ireland, 100th anniversary: Two stamps to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the tragic sinking of the RMS Empress of Ireland, in the St. Lawrence River, near Rimouski, Quebec. The stamp recognizes the highest death toll for a peacetime Canadian Maritime accident. Some 1,012 people died when the ship collided with a Norwegian collier, the SS Storstad, on May 29, 1914 Canada Post will also be issuing 5 different FDCs as well. I have mine already bargained for.

Any designs released yet for these stamps?

Not that I know of. I was at the PO today and a friend of mine told me about these stamps & FDCs.

Empress of Ireland stamps are up on the Can Post website now.

I think it is a beautiful stamp. And I especially like the idea of the press sheet with the names of the people that lost their lives in the accident.
