I have to try the guys at the show first. It's the dealers who pay for the show with their table fees. If thsy feel that they cannot make money at the shows, they won't go. Then there will not be any stamp shows for us to go to.
David, hes Craig Thorpe from our stamp club..his residence is in Red Hook but hes the Squash coach for the University of Pennsylvanis so hes in Philadelphia about 4 days a week !! You will meet him either at our club auction or if he rides with us....
This is for the folks thinking of or that will be attending Stamp Expo 400 in Albany in September...i talked to Dr.John Nunes who is ram rodding the show...these guys have to be gluttons for punishment..anyway he says parking on Friday the first day of the show will be rough...its a workday and there are 20,000 state workers parking in the area..parking for Friday will cost 20 dollars and then 5 bucks for Saturday and Sunday...i suggest if you go Friday and do not want to part with 20 dollars of stamp money..that you find an alternate parking area within a few blocks...when I went up to the saratoga track last week..i saw parking lots for 7 dollars for the day within a few blocks of the show !! protect yourself at all times !!
Got to the Big Stamp show around 10:15 today..found a all day car lot for 10 bucks about 10 minutes at most from the event..tomorrow you can drive right into the show parking lot for five bucks !! Bobgggg and David Giles I will e mail you about it...general info...the show is in one long long long hallway..you just walk it from one end to the other..there are chairs so you do not have to stand at tables and the chairs were not all taken at any table I can recall..plenty of room..as usual at a show the time just flies and before you know it..its 6pm....we will be back for another go tomorrow !
