Hopefully this photo is a little bit clearer. Trying to determine if it is a plate 1 or plate 2. I am leaning towards one but then again I am new to this.

Plate 2.... but I'd like to know your reasons for thinking plate1.

Might I suggest keeping the GB Penny Black or Twopence Blue comments and photos on one forum topic when posting and not starting a fresh topic with each further addition ? Keeping track of the updated topic can be difficult when lots of topics are started. My memory is not what it used to...er...er...something or other.

Okay thanks. I had seen earlier on another site that on plate one that the T and W would connect and the O would be missing a chip if it was plate 2. But this was also in the middle of the night last night. Also, I tried to repost on the same topic but couldn't figure out how to add a picture in a reply....i am a newbie =(

landstuhl0526: Use the "Reply To Topic" link immediately under "Share this topic!" (which is above the first post) when posting pictures in a reply. You can't post pictures in a Quick Reply, which is probably what you're problem was.

I suggest you disregard information from that site, then , as the opposite is true. Only plate one has the TW joined... and even then not every stamp is affected. You have a plate 2 stamp...one of only 6.4 million Blues in total of which 2.4 million were plate 2. Put into context, there were sixty eight million Penny Black stamps printed.
