I received this in a world collection of topical stamps (costumes).

Can someone please help me identify this very large mint stamp. It may be a label as I can see no denomination marking.

It was mixed in with Chinese stamps, but it looks Japanese style to me.

Thanks again

Interesting item. I can definitely say it's not a Japanese postage stamp, but I do agree with you that the subdued colors of the painting look more like a Japanese style. I can't really make out the writing in the upper right-hand corner to see if that would provide some identifying information.

But I seem to vaguely recall that there are some Chinese labels that maybe accompanied philatelic products, and perhaps this is one of those.

Hopefully somebody will come along soon who can provide better information.

Here is a better picture link that may help with the writing.

The topic picture is definitely Japanese. Look at the writing at the corner. Is there something that looks like a sideways 8? If so, then it is a Japanese stamp.

Got this answer from someone who specializes in Asian stamps. I never would have figured it out.

Cinderella from China.

The Princess shown is Princess Wencheng. She was a Tang Dynasty Princess who was married to a Tibet King. You can find more information here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Princess_Wencheng

Thanks for the help all.
