So I optimize an image to 99k, save it, and then it turns into a 270k JPEC or a 210k GIF.

Why isn't it a 99k file?

I find that, *after* uploading the image, any changes I make in image quality or the sharpen algorithm or the spatial resolution (H*V pixels) are reflected on the image on my screen *but*, when I download the image, I get an earlier version.

I've found two workarounds:

1) Download the adjusted image using [Right-Click] [Save Image As] instead of their [Download this Image] button;

2) Once the quality/sharpen controls are the way I want them, I re-upload the image; then, if I use their [Download this Image] button, I get the final, adjusted image.

Cheers,

I just used the image optimizer with no problems on Windows 7 machine. If you download the image and then look at the size of the file in say, file explorer (hopefully you're using Windows) and its not the correct size, that is a different situation than if you download the file and look at it inside an application that may be altering the file as a side-effect.
