can anybody out there tell me if there is any stamp book or a large catalog that isn't going to be so expensive?

Hi Tina......

If you are looking for a Scott US catalog a few years old, they can often be found on ebay at reasonable discounts from new issues. This way you get the benefit of the information without the high cost of a new catalog. The only objection might be that the values would not be up to date but unless you plan on selling stamps, new values really don't mean a lot.

You May want to check out your local library.
The newer catalogues May be loaned out.
Sometimes they sell or give away older ones that have not had any traffic For a while,it might be worth looking into.

in the library's reference section

If your main collecting interest is US and North America, I would recommend this catalog as it is nicely constructed.

and is affordable.

I use this and the Scott Classic catalog.

thanks desertgem im going to run down to the local barnes and noble I live in the city (yuck) so I have access to lots of stores I check the thrift stores for such books and stamp stuff thats how I got my digital blue
