Not a new issues guy, myself, so I read this headline as:

"[Any Country] Welcomes [Any Event] As A New Tributary From The Great River Of Collector Cash".

But those of you who like this sort of thing ought to know:

Israel Welcomes The Pope

What, no Latin? I am, like, so Old School.

Cheers,

I used to collect anything and everything philatelic on Pope Paul VI visit to the Holy Land in 1964 since it was divided between Israel and Jordan.

? relinquent

Were you aiming for the polite version of "Pontifex, ut revertar in patriam!" ?

I had no objections to his visit ;)

Cheers,

To be honest I was using google translate and it seems I failed. I have no objections to his visit either, in fact I think it is a great idea.

I have developed what I like to call The Reciprocal Turing Test.

1) I reduce anything I want to say to a series of simple, declarative sentences.

2) I use Google Translate to take each simple, declarative sentence from English to, say, Klingon.

3) I use Babylon Translate to take Google's Klingon back into English.

If each translator can be fooled (the Turing part) into thinking that the other translator is speaking intelligible Klingon, I use that result.

If not, I fiddle the simple, declarative sentence, usually by splitting it into two even more simple, declarative sentences.

Won't work for Latin, sadly, as Babylon does not do Latin.

Cheers,
