Have been looking around on our sister family "Coin Community Forum" for some time now and have picked up the habit of collecting silver coins with a colour print on them or colourized coins. I like to think of these silver coins as having the print of a stamp on them.

But there is a thread in the "Precious Metals and Bullion - Gold, Silver, Copper, Platinum forum" on Gold And Silver called "What happens to gold and silver next? Look out below?" It was started by a person with the user name of "yup" and has 104,000 views, 2500 replies and started on 2.15.13.

If you have any interest in this area of Gold & Silver now is the time to go and have a bit of a read and follow this amazing thread.

Some of the coins with the print of a stamp on them!

These are really nice looking, and the thread is really worth reading. I suppose you would never want to spend one. How do you tell which is which in the dark? How do you put one in a vending machine? :-)

They remind me of the gold foil coins which some French colonies issued in the mid-1970s (e.g. Niger 1971 de Gaulle issue). Didn't Tonga issue stamps as metallic coins?

Yes I remember coming across them. The metal had a thickish black rubber behind it with a gum on it like Tarzan's Grip! lol

Thanks for your comment! KGV

Buying silver coins with the print of a stamp on them has got even cheaper as silver is back into the US$15oz area.
