I happened to be reading some old newspapers online and came across this ... apparently it was a series back in the day. Has anyone seen any others?

Llanfair etc is in Wales, not England. Here is the town's full name on the Railway Station sign board. With a helpful guide to its pronunciation below.

Probably all of ten people live in that town? Just kidding; I figured everybody moves rather then try to remember the towns name! Anyhow Terence, from the cartoon and the obviously wrong country named we can see that people way back then were not trying to be politically correct!

Just did some additional research and found out that "Postal Oddities" was actually a radio show back in the day based on this 1936 "Radio Mirror" article:

The 1930s and early 1940s were in many ways a wonderful time. People seemed genuinely and easily entertained then. And stamp collecting was an actively pursued hobby.

Now we have the Internet, which is not bad and greatly superior to print, radio, & TV as a source for information.
