My fifth Volapük postcard from ebay this year! This one was sent locally within Hannover in 1892. There's an interesting mix of languages here: the address and date are in Volapük, the bottom half of the message side is a birthday greeting in German, and the top half of the message side is in shorthand. I can't read the shorthand at all; I'm not even sure if it's in German or Volapük. Any Gabelsberger-Kurzschrift experts here?

I ordered a plate block off ebay. The seller had created a little manila pocket for protection but it was empty! I noticed the seller and got a refund.

Thanks CC. This one looks like it will be going back. Upon scanning I see what looks to be a large surface scrape which is very disappointing since this would have filled a nice gap.

I got this beautiful cover from an exchange partner from Brasil. It is a shame I sent a response without any stamps - there was a crazy lady at the post office that said I could either use stamps or have the letter registered but not both.

Yes she is, but she was just one of those people you cannot argue with, so I gave up. Said something along the lines of "I do not care how you posted last time, you can't do it!"

stallzer, gorgeous 1941 Hong Kong! On the $1 China Clipper and Sea Plane, wasn't the sea plane also named the China Clipper?

I honestly do not know. I've tried to find if it is listed somewhere but so far no joy.

I think it was. The Ascension high values are another lovely set. Had to smile at the Three Sisters. Grandson's high school nemesis was Sister High School, which is just north the Three Sisters in Oregon.
