I was wondering if there ever will be another CAPEX stamp show again. I especially miss seeing many collectors buying stamps from the post office and rushing to cancel the stamps themselves with so many different cancelers in so many different combinations on cover as possible. It was something that I still remember especially their determined and smiling faces at the cancellation stations.

I don't see another CAPEX unless there is a major change of heart at Canada Post. There is no way that any nation can hold an international stamp show without the support of the home post office. I have heard that the US Postal Service is supporting the 2016 show in New York with more than $1 million. At present there are very few sponsoring $$$ available from Canada Post.

The philatelic arm at Canada Post does not really care that much for promoting the hobby. They just do the necessary.

I think they shout do it. It's a great way to promote the hobby. They want to sell more stamp and the philately is a good way. But, I agree with gportch, they have to put a bit on heart in it. They shout put a philatelist in charge of Canada Post!!A person who understand us.
