Scott # 15 - Extra Paper..?

Hi guys...Please take a look at this Scott # 15 (sorry, took picture through 102b card) and it is fairly well centered , but why the extra paper on the right side, I don't believe they ever had booklets which would explain it....Any one else have the same type of oddity on their stamps..Or why is there the extra paper..??...Thanks.

It looks to me like the stamp is centered to the left, so has a larger margin on the right. The perforations are poorly punched on the right side, leaving some of the perforation "chads". I don't see evidence of any additional paper.

I'm not Shure, It is not center, I agree, but there a bit more paper then usual...?

Thats what I was thinking to Jacklac...I thought the paper should stop about where I have the yellow line inserted....Does anyone else have the same oddity on their stamp..??

Wert, This happens quite often on the early stamp issues. Each perforation wheel was set by hand and spacing of the wheels was not very accurate. The stamp next to this one might well have been a bit smaller than usual depending on the distance set between the perforation wheels. Occasionally a perforation pin broke off and this would result in a blind perforation and occasionally a damaged perforation wheel was replaced be a new wheel of slightly different pin spacing which causes a compound perforation on the stamp. All of these things happened and are documented in philatelic literature. What you have is a normal wide margined stamp and a really nice one at that, although the perforations on the right margin are a little rough..
