Canada Post 'Productlisting.PDF' Older Versions?

Does anyone have "back issues" or older versions of Canada Post's product listings? Preferably as a PDF?

On Canada Post's website, they have a "Complete Product Listing" PDF document available that shows every philatelic product they currently sell, along with order numbers and prices. You can see the current version here: http://www.canadapost.ca/cpo/mc/ass...tlisting.pdf

I'd like to get older versions of this document (there seem to be maybe 3 or 4 per year) back as far as I can.

Did you try the Collections / Details magazines free from Canada Post online or through the mail? Collections has that info I believe.

I've been collecting FDCs pretty passively via a standing order with the Canada Post Philatelic Service since 1982, so yeah, I get Collections and Details. You're right that one or both of those publications do have some ordering info, but neither one has quite the details about the collections (see what I did there?) that appears in the 'productlisting.pdf' document. I want to know what OFDCs have been made available since mid-2007, and the Product Listing seems to be the only thing that has the specific detail (e.g. confirmation that UL, LL, UR, and LR plate block OFDCs exist, or don't) I'm after.

It seems to be possible to mostly figure it out from the product numbers, but not completely: a product number ending in -121 seems to ensure that plate blocks (products -122, -123, -124, and -125) exist; a product number ending in -131 means only a single or combination OFDC (no plate blocks); -144 means a souvenir sheet only (no singles, combos, or plate blocks). That's all pretty easy to decipher into a mostly-complete checklist. However, product codes ending in -126 seem to be used for combination OFDCs both with and without plate blocks being issued. Annoying! Which is why I'd rather not have to sort it out from limited info -- I'd much prefer the information to be definitive (heh), right from the Product Listing documents.

I also don't know -- maybe somebody can confirm or refute? -- whether the Product Listing also exists (or existed) on paper. Maybe somebody's got old ones they could snap pics of, say?? Any help would be appreciated....

I'm not going to be any help with your query but you did get me wondering just how many variations I have in FDC's. I didn't realize the did all 4 corners (makes sense of course) so I'd be interested if you can ever compile a good checklist. I inherited most of my FDC's and have about 8 over stuffed albums full . I sold off alot about 5 yrs ago thinking that they were multiples but likely they were variations of the plate blocks. I wouldn't order new ones since they depreciate faster than a new car but don't mind scooping up a hoard for 50c or so a pc.

There's a specialized catalogue for FDCs -- The New Specialized Catalogue of Canada Post Official First Day Covers, by Chung and Narbonne, 3rd Edition, 2007, $21.95 MSRP -- that I've been using as a checklist. It's exhaustive. The problem is, it only covers stamps issued up to July, 2007. What I'm trying to build is a supplement to that catalogue, which would cover the seven years since the last edition. I *think* I've got a complete list of FDCs issued since. I'm working to build a checklist. I'm up to 2010 at the moment, so it's going pretty well.

I collect FDCs assuming that their real value is essentially nil. I like the fact that it's an achievable and not-that-expensive goal to collect a complete set of OFDCs, from April 1971 until today. I figure I've spent bigger sums on stupider things, so why not?!
