Hi Everyone,

I thought that SCF had a section for selling stamps?
I remember seeing and looking at what people had to offer a while ago, but looks like things have changed a bit maybe.

I see the area under the section: Buy / Sell / Trade | 50 Post Minimum
The sub section: Auction and Pocket it Now Area

Is that where people sell on SCF?
If so, either I don't know what I am doing, or are there not any auctions? In the past, I've always seen a few auctions here.. I think..
Here is the SCF link:
https://www.stampcommunity.org/auction.asp

I would be okay with paying the $5.00 monthly fee to auction off stamps here, as I am comfortable here as I am trying to sell off all my foreign and USA, MNH and used stamps. I have gah-zillions LOL.
Thank you!
Sue

Hi Sue. On my computer there is an area right next to your avatar that says "View all auctions. There are currently no live items listed." If there were any auctions that is where you would find them!

Hi Peter,
Thank you so much for guiding me through the steps.
I think I will give it a try, set up an auction and see what happens!
I don't see a "schedule an auction time" which is a great feature on ebay and on Listia. I like to start (and end) my auctions in the evenings.

Okay here I go, what stamps to pick for an auction Hmmmm...
Thanks again!

I have another question....
I don't see the section of SCF (Auction and Pocket it Now Area) requires a member to be a SITE SUPPORTER ?? Is that correct?

Can I start an auction in the 'Auction and Pocket it Now Area', for free?

Thank you,
SueStamps

Suestamps,

You need to be a site supporter to post items for sale or auction.

Here is the link:

Good luck and I look forward to seeing your stuff.

Hi Londonbus1,
Thanks for the helpful information.
I am now officially a "site supporter" however, I see that my little white doggie avatar still says "valued member" I hope it takes affect soon. Thanks again!

Looking for an opinion.

If I become a site supporter can I advertise to sell something that is stamp related but not a stamp or cover?

And why aren't folks regularly selling on here anymore? I cannot say I made a ton of purchases, but I did buy some.

That's a GOOD question....

I hope people read this and reply.... or correct me if I am wrong.
From what I can tell, SCF used to have auctions set up differently from the way they are set up now???

Before, it was pretty easy, you could upload photos just like you do when you reply to any thread. But from what I can tell, (and did just this evening with my first auction here on SCF), you cannot upload the image of your stamp / cover / item directly any more. Please someone correct me if I am wrong, but that's how I did it.

I had to upload the image to a different website, then link my photo to that other website. Plus, I also do not see any feature that allows more than just one photo to show up?

Instead, I had to go to the 'Buy / Sell / Trade | 50 Post Minimum ' and post a new thread under the subsection 'Sales Promotion: SCF, ebay, eCrater, eBid, etc.' and from there, I uploaded additional photos and then included a link to my auction.

Honestly, I think maybe.... possibly... too complicated and the old way of auctioning off, was WAY easier??? Any one out there? Agree, disagree? Comments, opinions?

I can't even find the BID button but I am sure maybe since it is my own auction, maybe I can't see it, but others can? If anyone reading this, please go to my auction, and see if you can see a bid button, and if you know how, take a 'snapshot' photo and upload it here so I can see what it looks like....

A long time ago, I would see many auctions, now I only see one, mine, unless I am not in the correct section?
