The Azad Hind Stamps are a set of Cinderella stamps designed by German artist Werner von Axster-Heudtlass (1898-1949), and printed by photogravure in 1943 in Nazi Germany for Subhas Chandra Bose's Azad Hind (Indian National Army). I recently received Switzerland's 500fr woven jacquard textile stamp (see below) on a cover which I think is a really outstanding representation of the Textile Industry. The stamp was mailed on a registered package from Zofingen, Switzerland. It is now my favorite foreign stamp.  |
