Jack -- the Titanic Stamp you sent me was beautiful and canceled nicely. I'm scanner-less at the moment or I would post a picture.

Jack,
thanks.....
My Titanic may be salvageable, the mark looks waxy
maybe a soft india rubber may move the scribble....

Rod I have some very fine used Titanic stamps, one is yours for the asking.

I am lucky enough to work near a post office in Aldergrove, BC, where all the staff are super friendly to stamp collectors and they go out of there way to make sure all covers are cancelled very nicely.

Unfortunately there is no control over what other post offices may do in transit.

Leaving the stamps on envelope would be the best thing to do in that case so as to protect any residual philatelic value to the stamps where those "crimes" have been committed. Once off envelope, the stamps would become a total loss (if not already) . :(

Rodd the stamps you won from me I sent using the Titanic stamp and two newfoundland stamps. My wife had them hand cancel it at the post office. So hopefully it arrives in good shape, think Canada is the only place where you can double frank?

I think the red "DO NOT BEND Philatelic Material" stamp must have set this one off in Harrisburg, NC. On the bright side, a complementary color crayon was used in commission of the crime.

I still cringe when I see that Steve,
like fingernails across a blackboard.

You mean legally IJ. ?

I get all sorts of franking from SCF members who like
to kid around, even a Fujeira Label, and a Monaco stamp.
They all go through providing correct postage is aboard.

We have quintuplet franking approval...

Inscribed "Australia", from 14/02/1966 to current
Inscribed "Australian Antarctic Territory", from 28/09/1966 to current
Inscribed "Cocos (Keeling) Islands", from 09/07/1969 to 02/09/1979
Inscribed "Cocos (Keeling) Islands Australia", from 17/02/1994 to current
Inscribed "Christmas Island Australia", from 04/03/1993 to current

Here is a more approved fashion of cancelling the missed,
and the large and bulky.

Newfoundland was a separate country when they join Canada the Newfoundland post office was allowed to have there stamps as legal postage . So as far as I know Canada + Newfoundland stamps combined is the only double country Franking .
Maybe I wrong.

thanks to timbres667 who directed me to this thread. I created a topic " The Big Black X" https://goscf.com/t/26877 but really my cover needs to be here surrounded by friends suffering the same fate
Despite the initial shock of seeing this cover, I do think it has exhibition potential if one's thematic topic was Postal Services

This was in yesterday's mail -- I would have enjoyed the artistry more had a marker been used instead of a pen.
