Is anyone else experiencing some of the problems recited in this article?

Wow, that would put a serious hurt on ebay merchants.

Fortunately, for those of us whom
ship via USPS through ebay or Paypal
do not have those problems...

Endicia (dazzle software) is working fine.

Anyone that is at a "standstill" as mentioned in the article is just plain lazy. Get off your butt and go to the post office.

Thank you Bobby131313, and please use STAMPS on your mail! The clerk will do it when you ask!

I used to use Click and Ship a lot since it allowed you to ship with stamps and still get a tracking number. But I moved away from it last year when every single time I fired up the app it would go download yet another 'update'. Not sure if it was downloading new database info or app updates; but I lost confidence (and patience) in the app.

This is a little off topic but something bobby & peter said reminded me of something...I sent a mailer to Australia a month or so ago and used stamps from the 40's & 50's (and there were quite a few of them too) but the young lady clerk behind the counter actually asked "what all those were all over the mailer??"- Seriously? I'm thinking that you work at the post office and can't recognize a postage stamp?? ...somethings' gotta be wrong with her...OK end of rant. :)

I don't think there is an EXTRA charge if the 'click & Shipper' were to bring the items to the Post Office. It saves the PS pick-up labor. Bobby's right, the mailer is lazy, needs to get to the PO & let the IT types work out the kinks. The only one holding up the business is him/her self

I use both the online "Click-N-Ship" and the desktop "Click-N-Ship" software, and haven't had problems with either one. BTW, the ecommercebytes article appears to be referring to the online C-N-S, not the desktop application (which indeed used to "update" all the time as someone else pointed out, but now seems pretty stable and generally only updates when there's a change in services offered.)

bobby131313 & ecmorgan, the reason the shipper said she was at a "standstill" was because she only charged/quoted the online shipping rates (which are substantially cheaper for many services) and could/would not cover the difference if she went to the PO and paid the full rate. IMO, that's not laziness, just a business decision.

For a large seller, those differences between online and "retail" rates could easily exceed $100's or $1,000's+ over the course of a week. I wouldn't have made the same business decision she did, but can understand where she's coming from, especially if she sells in a segment with very low margins (i.e. bullion, face value postage, etc.)

I just heard today that Google made some change to their Chrome web browser and now people using Chrome can't print FedEx shipping labels.

You should be able to go to the post office and get them to honor the click 'n ship rate.

apastuszak, I've never heard of them doing that. If you got an "online" rate for an "over-the-counter" transaction, I'd love to hear how you pulled that off! FWIW, I don't even think they can see online pricing on their computer screens - they'd have no idea of what to even charge you.

Think about your own statement... I wouldn't
even make a comment on this...
