Wert, you're on the right track now!
Don't be discouraged - I write a lot of negative things about
ebay, but still make at least 80% of my hobby purchases there. That's because the SELLERS can be really great.
One bit of advice, if it's not too late... don't give PayPal access to your bank account (PayPal will try hard to get that access), give them a credit card number instead. That way if you have a problem, you will have the option of trying to get a refund from the credit card company.
I've never had to do that, but others have, and I came close at least once.
PayPal billed me three times for the same transaction once, and after struggling with them they gave me a refund - for ONE purchase. After that, they seemed to think I was fighting for an extra refund, so it got pretty messy, but they finally conceded that they were wrong.
And an
ebay coin seller claimed I didn't pay him $168.00 and when I showed him proof that I did, he apologized and said he'd hold up shipping the item so I could pick out additional coins from him at a discount to make up for the mistake! That was scary but I eventually got the coin. The seller was NARU'ed shortly after that, Not A Registered User, which usually means "kicked off
ebay".
But hundreds of quick and easy transactions keep me coming back.
