I wasn't sure which forum was most appropriate for this, and considering it's not a formal event announcement I opted not to put it in the Show Calendar forum.

Hopefully this will save people planning to stay at the Westin in Itasca a few bucks.

The CHICAGOPEX website quotes a special show rate of $117 + taxes per night, but you can do better.

Last year when it came time to book rooms for CHICAGOPEX, they had blacked out that week and weekend for the best rates. As of right now, they have not done that yet. I was just able to book rooms using the "Birth Year Promotion" which I had used in previous years, but could not use last year.

With this rate, the first night is $89 and the second night is the last 2 digits of your bith year, so if you were born in 1950, your second night is $50.

I don't know what rate third or fourth nights are billed at, as I only ever stay 2 nights.

Here is the link for the rate:

It's currently the 4th promotion listed on the page.

It is a fully refundable rate, so if you find a better rate later, you can cancel this one up until the afternoon of your check-in date without penalty.

I would book just to hold at this point... It would not surprise me if at some point they black out the dates for this promotion like they did last year.

P.S. It is a GREAT venue and facility, not to mention a GINORMOUS show.

Good info. I'm actually considering driving up from Nashville as the company I work for is based in Chicago and it'll be a chance to meet with the CEO.

What are the dates ? Every year it's the weekend before Thanksgiving and I come to Chicago every Turkey day to visit family.
Be nice if it was a week later ? Since I'd be staying with family Itasca is only about a 20 minute drive from where I grew up so it sure would be nice to make it one year.
