Can someone recommend a good catalogue for France revenue stamps? Scott, of course, doesn't list any.

To expand a bit - in the auction lot I referenced in another post, I found about 50 revenue stamps. I'm pretty sure they have no real value, but I am curious about what I have.

Yvert has a recent catalogue. I haven't seen one in the US but it is readily available online.

For older options, there is a Kremer catalogue from the 60's that turns up occasionally, and there is always the 100-year-old Forbin.

If there are others, I'd like to hear about them. I only have Forbin.

I saw the Forbin online, but as you said it's 100 years old and some of the stamps have 1970s cancellations, so it probably won't be too helpful.

I'll look at Yvert and Barefoot and see what I can find.

Thanks for your suggestions.

The engraver is André Galle (1761-1844) who was famous for his medals.

Here's a French wikipedia article about him:

I read "GALLE F" as "Galle fecit".

You are simply a legend, Nigel.
Bravo!
Thank you.

Being a keen cyclist.....I am delighted to learn Andre Galle patented the link chain and gear in 1829
ergo: Andre was there when Chris Froome won the Tour de France.

First design by Leonardo da Vinci.
