Recently I bought an item on Stamps2go that turned out to have already been sold on ebay. The seller was profuse in his apology, and offered me what I consider to be a more valuable item for the same price as compensation.

I just got ripped again on ebay.
Five lot I won were just canceled by an ebay seller because he said they were previously sold.

Now the seller has relisted 3 of the exact same lots.

Obviously the lots weren't previous sold. He LIED !!

This #*^# has got to stop!

Timm, could this be the "British cartel" in action? How about some links?

I see nothing wrong with maximizing your product. There's a better chance of selling on two or even three venues as compared to one, but that's just my opinion I'm a Newby. This may be on the other side of the fence but if I was say selling on tv would I sell it on only Fox and have only the consumers that watch Fox view it or would I also put it on CBS, NBC, and ABC to maximize my product? Now, with that said the advertising cost is going to be factor to be figured in. I hope this makes sense.

So... because one seller cancels some items for one buyer, that's a reason not to use ebay?

Newsflash: this has nothing to do with ebay.

I encounter this with show dealers all the time that also sell via their website, ebay, BidStart, or anywhere else. They sell at one venue and forget to remove the item from the others.

Not related to ebay in any way, shape, or form.

The main point here, I think, is not so much the listing of items in multiple places, but the cancellation of an apparent sale on fraudulent grounds (as shown by the relisting of the allegedly sold items).

Then that is a problem with THAT seller, not a reason to not "use ebay anymore".

To each his/her own (way to encourage new posters, BTW, using snark like "newsflash").

Snark? Seriously? It's just commentary. You're way too easily offended...
