A common stamp, with a very difficult to read precancel. Can anyone make out what the precancel reads?

Looks like Buffalo, NY (L-4E) with some form of overprinted cancel on last three letters.

Thanks. I was debating whether it was Buffalo, NY or possibly Suffern, NY. I searched the PSS album pages under New York for the letters "UFF" and those were the only two possibles that came up.

I'm not sure what the other letters on the right side of the stamp are, since it doesn't look like a postmark but is similarly styled to a precancel, yet the letters look to be larger than those on the main portion of the precancel. Maybe it's just a freak or printing anomaly that caused it.

It appears like a double strike and if that's the case it looks closer to Suffern NY. ( My first look said Buffalo but if it is a double strike then Suffern)

Looks like Suffern to me, as well. But if it is a double strike, why are both Fs so clear? That's a pretty fascinating item.
