How do you catalog the Germany Postal Stationery that contains compound Private Printed images?

I came across a stack that have up to 3 compound values on each postal card/envelope/aerogramme.

Michels does not make this clear (perhaps if I spoke German it would help!)

Any German postal stationery collector out there that can answer this?
Here is an example of what I am talking about:

Note: The top item is a 40-25-40 compound, while the bottom item is a 40-40-25 compound. They both use the same items but in different order.

How does one list these? There are singles, doubles, triples in various order. Has someone (catalog) ever itemized these? Michels hasn't.

Any help?

To reply to my own message, mathematically speaking, just the one set of 21 issues, given 3 rows (haven't seen any 4 row covers yet) has a possibility of 9263 (+/-) combinations. SO, numbering this would prove useless. I guess I will just put "Private Print" "Such and Such (fill in) Series", with stamps (insert number of stamp issue) being used in tandem.

What else could I do? With all the other sets that can have possible combinations, I would get lost in the details to much.

If these were in my collection, I would record the following information for my records:

Scott No.: NSN(UXC1)
[I use Scott predominantly, unless I have a specialized catalog. NSN means no Scott number. Since these are air post postal cards, I include the Scott prefix UXC. The "1" is a sequence number. The next one would be "2", etc. This entry would be just NSN if I had a specialized catalog number.]

Other No.: (blank)
[If I had a specialized catalog number, it would go here, e.g. Michel xxx.]

Description: Postal card has three imprints similar to Scott design type Axxx: 1) 40pf Castle A [can't read description, but I would get it from the Scott catalog], brown; 2) 25pf Castle B, red; 3) Castle A, brown. Cachet commemorates ILA '82. Serial no. 87 printed at center bottom. Pencil notation in LR corner.
[The description includes as much information as I feel is relevant to describe the item.]

The entry for the second card would be similar. The order of the imprints would change. Other information would change too.

I hope this helps.

Regards, Robert

Michel does not list them separately. They list them on a page that shows all of the items available to be used by "Private Order" material. They have them as envelopes, postcards, airmail, etc. options. It leaves a LOT to the imagination!

I don't read German, so all the small print is meaningless (unless I translate it all).

I do not intend to purchase anymore of these (was given a stash of about 3 inches thick) from a friend, so I will do something with them.

My current databases (excel) just list(in order): Country, Catalog number (H&G or Michel), Date of issue, Postmark data, type of stationery, EKU (in my collection for that country) and cancel date or mint.

It keeps the typing down, and gives me a quick glance inventory. I will likely just list the types of impressions on the envelopes in the Postmark data section.

Thanks for your input. The joys of WW collecting throws out bricks instead of bones every now and then.

Michel's postal stationery catalog does not include private postal stationery. For pre-1946 Germany, there are specialized catalogs (Frech or Borek) that list private postal stationery, including those with multiple stamps imprinted. A sample of Frech -

WRT post-1945, the second volume of Borek (Borek Ganzsachen-Spezial-Katalog Deutschland ab 1933) covers many of these issues, but the last edition I know of is from around 1979/1980, and cuts off with 1980. Those you show appear to be from 1982, so I can't give you a catalog number. Here's a sample of Borek -
