found this letter within some cayman island stamps. I am wondering what 9 cent stamp they could be talking about. The only stamp I see that has some value is 337. I am trying to find somewhere that shows quantity issued of cayman island stamps. Does anyone know how or where to obtain this information.

Thank you for your time and assistance

Correct. The 9-cent variety of these similar looking stamps were only in use for less than 4 months in 1974, before being replaced by the 8-cent variety to meet revised postal rates. The limited availability and use makes them quite desirable to collectors.

Correct. The 9-cent variety of these similar looking stamps were only in use for 4-1/2 months, before the 8-cent variety was issued for revised postal rates. The limited availability and use makes them quite desirable to collectors.

Not listed as such in the Scott Catalog. The info. provided above is merely a screen shot from a Cayman Islands APS Mini-Album Page of Cayman Islands stamps. The entire link can be a bit long to download, but if you want it, here's the link (noted on bottom of page 2):

http://stamps.org/userfiles/file/AP...t_Cayman.pdf

P.S. It might be helpful to change the title of your thread to "Cayman Islands" (not "Camon Island") to enable a better search for the info. in the future.
